Harry Earle Tope, Sr. lived in Mount Pleasant (Mich.) at least from 1941 until 1962, and was married to Ruth Wright. Together they had two children: Harry E., Jr. and Michael F. Tope. Harry, Sr. was an oil producer and leaser. He purchased lots of Michigan real estate and oil and gas leases, mainly in the late 1930s and early 1940s. In approximately 1962 Harry, Sr. died.
